Microneedling, Facial Acupuncture & Skin Health in Halifax

Skin Doesn’t Function in Isolation

Our Approach

Skin is a hormonally responsive organ. Estrogen supports the collagen that keeps skin firm, the hydration that keeps it plump, and the wound healing that lets it bounce back. As estrogen shifts through perimenopause and beyond, collagen thins, skin gets drier, and healing slows, which is why the routine that worked for a decade stops landing.

Breakouts along the jaw in midlife aren’t a hygiene problem either. They track hormonal change. None of this is a product failure. It’s your skin responding to what’s happening inside, and Brittany’s work supports the skin through those shifts rather than treating the surface in isolation.

Not a facial bar. An integrated skin health model.

Meet Brittany O’Brien, L.Ac

Brittany is a Licensed Acupuncturist and skin health specalist, trained at the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her practice is focused on women’s hormonal health- which means when she’s assessing your skin, she’s thinking about circulation, nervous system regulation, hormonal context, and what’s happening internally, not just what’s visible on the surface.

Her path into skin runs straight through that training. Facial acupuncture is part of an acupuncturist’s craft, working with the circulation, the muscle, and the points of the face, so the precision that anchors her hormonal work carries directly into how she treats skin. Traditional Chinese Medicine also taught her to read skin as a signal rather than a surface, a reflection of circulation, stress, and internal balance. She didn’t come to skin from a beauty background and learn the body second. She started with the body, and skin is one more place it shows.
